Horizontal Ripples

The Renaissance artists went to great lengths to discover the “perfect” rectangular shape in which to construct a painting. The resulting “golden section” had a length-to-height ratio of 1: 1.618, (phi) and the Masters got pretty excited about using it. I find it a frankly, boring format, and tend to use a far more extreme ratio of 1:3 or 1:4. This tends to suit the “fingers of land, fingers of sea” dynamic that I am attempting to interpret in a lot of my Marlborough Sounds work. Limited edition Giclee prints on canvas, mounted, framed (small black aluminum frame), numbered (mostly out of 100) and hand-signed: All 900 mm long @ $450 except numbers 26, 52, 57, 64, 88, 108, 119, 600 mm long @ $350.
