SealegsFor many years, in attempting to depict the waters of the Marlborough Sounds, I avoided anything un-natural. Houses, boats, jetties, moorings, even pine trees, were carefully excluded from my work. The ripple of my boat’s wake was the only man-made thing I’d allow to invade.
Then I discovered the rich viridian green in the shadows under jetties. The series, “sealegs” was inspired by the desire to celebrate this gorgeous colour.
