On The EdgeBecause I have spent a great deal of my life in the land-locked water-ways of the Marlborough Sounds, to be where I can see the open horizon is awe-inspiring for me.
To stand on the place where countless miles of rolling ocean crashes against the steadfastness of land, is also inspiring.
As a mountaineer I have spent a huge amount of effort to get to the place where a small piece of land tapers off to meet the sky. There is a dynamic and energy on that mountaintop.
So it is to stand at the place where land meets the sea.
To be on the edge.
